The ending is in sight (but still oh so far)

Today I started off by updating the TODO list, making sure to add more details since the game is getting closer to being finished. I've done some thinking and I want to learn a little about behaviors and add some tweening to the popups on this project, instead of putting it off for the next. It shouldn't be that much of a lift, and if behaviors work as I think they will, it shouldn't be that much to replace the popups.

After fleshing out the TODO list I also started thinking more about the fact that I'm going to be publishing this game. I want to get it to a state where it's polished enough that I'm proud of it, while still maintaining its purpose as a learning game and not turning into a time sink. I have a tendency to push back on any feature creep with a passion, however, I think in this case the extra week or so on development will be worth it for the overall quality of the product.

With all this in mind, I then spent some time creating an improved UI for the level screen along with a new layout for the popups. I'm happy with the design, it's a lot better than I currently have and it shouldn't take that much time to implement. Since I'll be creating the final designs for the popups, it was a good time to find a font to use. After some searching over at dafonts, I found one that works and is free to use for commercial purposes. Lastly, I created a pause button, it will the options button that's currently on the level screen.

Step 33/1000
