Today was the start of some adjustments, I started off by adding a couple of things to the TODO list. I added the other sweets and updated the code to spawn them randomly, I also adjusted the size of the meats, sweets, and Tadpole Man so it didn't feel so claustrophobic. I was sick of seeing the tutorial monster so I made a few quick frames of the current Tadpole Man and replaced the tutorial monster with them. Jessy will be making much better art and animations for Tadpole Man, but for now, this will do.
The levels are currently the same, with the only difference being the look of your character, but that's not enough so it was time to start addressing this! I started layering in some variables to track the different spawn speeds and the current level. Using these variables I adjusted the meat that spawns, along with its scale, based on the level the player is on. I also adjusted the spawn rates of the meat, sweets, and hearts so that they adjust during a level, and start off at different values for the levels.
Step 15/1000 - Gonna spend some more time adjusting variables tomorrow and set up the evolution screen to show both evolutions.
